The Artistic Difference

There is an art to photography and my fingerprint will be within every file I edit. No shortcuts. Passion for your work makes all the difference among photographers. I believe your love story can become art and should live forever.

My name is Jim Rode. My team and I create beautiful photography of your engagement and wedding. Each image will be lightly retouched and enhanced. I roam the wedding capturing fabulous moments. Many images are taken to the "darkroom" where the photographs are given my sensational fine-art treatment. My team of photographers and myself serve the greater Dallas and DFW area. I can travel nationwide for destination weddings.

I had lunch yesterday with some wedding professionals at the beautiful Omni Hotel -Fort Worth. We enjoyed the buffet at Cast Iron, talked about wedding trends with other professionals and wedding planners. Then, Deana Ogg escorted us to tour the hotel and ballrooms. It certainly is a wonderful place for an event or wedding.

Here are a few shots of the hotel furnishings I shot along the walk, plus some shots of friends. You'll spot Deana, Rhonda Baker from Precisely as Planned, Nick DiGennaro (wonderful classic guitar), and Lucia Bitnar (with Deana Ogg).

The event professionals at Aristide hosted a luncheon yesterday inviting members of the Ft. Worth Wedding Guild. I brought a camera and was wowed by the marvelous visit. Lunch was catered by Olivers. Wonderful! After lunch, I wandered about checking out the grooms room, the bridal room, lounge, terrace -all over! Looking forward to shooting my first wedding at Aristide come April!

I was invited to the Bridal Fashion Show at the Ruthe Jackson Center in Grand Prairie. Had a nice time and was very impressed with how beautifully Cheryl Algood dressed the center's ballroom. Cheryl also had a fashion show to entertain us with gowns from Distinctive Elegance of Cedar Hill.
Cheryl asked if I'd photograph one of the models around the center. She asked for a volunteer, and Lacey agreed. She along with an assistant from the bridal salon went with me out front to a beautiful Bentley automobile (sister car to the Rolls Royce). The car was from Romantic Remembrances. Lacey's assistant carefully kept her gown airborne, and even restricted me to 3 spots around the car for photographs. She would set the gown down and with Lacey in place I would shoot what I could. We only had about 10 minutes, but we had fun. Lacey was a beautiful model.
