The Artistic Difference

There is an art to photography and my fingerprint will be within every file I edit. No shortcuts. Passion for your work makes all the difference among photographers. I believe your love story can become art and should live forever.

My name is Jim Rode. My team and I create beautiful photography of your engagement and wedding. Each image will be lightly retouched and enhanced. I roam the wedding capturing fabulous moments. Many images are taken to the "darkroom" where the photographs are given my sensational fine-art treatment. My team of photographers and myself serve the greater Dallas and DFW area. I can travel nationwide for destination weddings.

Your wedding, my art. In love and art, you live forever. Jim Rode

Wedding Bridals of Rose at the Hotel Palomar Dallas

Rose was so beautiful on her wedding night. She was absolutely willing to give me ten minutes during the reception for some quick wedding night bridals.

Too often, brides don't want to pull themselves away from the reception for anything. Yet, with 200 people eating from buffet service...with the bride and groom being first...there is a time lag in dining. The bride and groom are finished first. While the guests finish their meals why taking advantage of the 10-20 minutes in time?

In the video below, I captured some bridals prior to the ceremony...and got some terrific shots during the reception. The reception bridal selections you see begin with the images of Rose on her couch.

I think we should think long term with the legacy of the day you wed. These are the images you will show your children someday. Someday, you may be a grandmother (shocking possibility!) and will open a beautiful wedding book and show your grandchildren how glamorous you were back in the early part of the century! You will be so glad you did not rely on pure photojournalistic wedding photography. A little fashion photography can make you look so cool!

Flower Mound Wedding - Lawton Engagements by Jim Rode Dallas photographer

It was "move in" day for Edith and Rudy at their new house in Lawton Oklahoma. Graciously, they took time out to let me photograph their engagements. We went on safari around town to get great shots. The more time I spent with them, the more I became impressed with how wonderful they are! I was witness to a special love. The wedding is coming soon in Flower Mound Texas, and I can't wait to capture the day.

ISES Charity for Children's Medical Dallas, by Jim Rode

Dallas wedding photographer is published again...I said to Sylvia. Okay, I can be proud in a phone call to my sweetheart Sylvia. It isn't every day that a magazine will upgrade its usual one page feature to a two-page spread. I got the page without the text -it's bigger-LOL. The editor, Robin Fowler told me 'our graphics designer must have really liked your pictures.'

The photographs were published in Texas Meetings and Events Magazine and can be seen here.
The Chris Ryan of the Ryan Manor hosted the event. His site is here...but is undergoing upgrades...so if you need info on a great event site call Chris at 214-855-5000. This was a fun charity event for the Children's Medical Center in Dallas, and has hosted by ISES of Dallas. A fun time was had by all -and nearly a hundred toys were collected for the kids at the hospital.

Ryan Manor Tour - Jim Rode Dallas Weddings

What do you do when Monday rolls around and the sky is overcast...and it's Feb. 1 and 50 degrees outside? Road Trip! I made a fun jaunt over to the Ryan Manor on Inwood Road. (Do you know how convenient it can be for out-of-town guests arriving the week of your wedding to simply fly in to Love field? It's about a mile west of the Manor -that sure makes life easier for your family!)

Chris Ryan (owner) and Martha O'Brian (Event Coordinator) graciously welcomed myself and the ladies of Foster Blue and Company Wedding and Event Planers -Cheryl Allgood and Lucia Bitnar. Together we got the VIP tour.

Ryan Manor is gorgeous. Catch the image of the back lawn...that can hold a huge event tent! I also love the patios on both sides of the manor with a generous walkway connecting both.

Hey brides...has your fiance' been a tiny bit bored visiting different venues in your wedding search? Wait till he sees that cool pool table. That knocked me out. It becomes easy to get the guys to the wedding a couple hours early if they've got time to kill and shoot a little pool. It will take the edge off his nervousness, knowing he will soon pledge his life to you in front of everyone in the world! Wow, I can't wait for that wedding!

Gary Fong visits

Had fun visiting with Gary Fong as he visited a gathering of photographers in Dallas to talk about weddings, books, his photographers products, and his new book.
I was sorry to see him rush a demo of some cool products, but he was being limited to two hours. I never like to limit my education. I loved the new lightsphere collapsable which, once he place it onto the flash, he held up with the camera simply dangling -held only by the lightsphere's rubber-like grip on the camera. I could only grimace when I think I might hold a $3000 camera and a $2000 lens like that...I can't do it!

The picture is from Gary's blog, courtesy Gary Fong. (He's holding a camera with the Origami fold-flat diffuser.)

Diamond Oaks Country Club - Jim Rode Photographer

Visiting Diamond Oaks Country Club today...this is going to sound corny but, it is a "hidden diamond" of a country club in the Mid-Cities. South of 820, and north of 121 close to the Denton Highway in Northeast Fort Worth. Beautiful grounds, club house overlooking the fairways, it is a real gem. James Bond (yes) is Director of Catering and puts on a great wedding! Details can be left to him -and his staff who will bring you a flawless wedding!

Did a new safari! I had a great time having lunch with Brandy and Arthur. They are cool. I'm going to do another safari later adding in their kids! Arthur is in the sports entertainment field. I'm not saying what yet, and don't want to spoil the surprise...you'll just have to wait for the safari to be posted. The slide-show is here Brandy and Arthur. I used my favorite safari song. When I was done I couldn't believe how cool it was!

Their wedding will be a a great chapel. The Northeast Wedding Chapel in North Richland Hills (Hurst?) ...maybe Ft. Worth...It is about 1 mile north of 121 on Pricinct LIne road. Here is their link. www.northeastweddingchapel.com
